************* O *************
THE FOUNDATION
IN AN EARLIER YEAR .....
"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What should be the reward of such sacrifices?'
Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship, and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men
who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you,
and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" --Samuel Adams
Below quote is from George Washington - predicting the 'stupidity' of many of our current "Elected Officials"
“Should, hereafter, those incited by the lust of power and prompted by the Supineness or venality of their Constituents,
overleap the known barriers of this Constitution and violate the unalienable rights of humanity: it will only serve to shew,
that no compact among men (however provident in its construction and sacred in its ratification) can be pronounced everlasting an inviolable.”
—George Washington, First Inaugural Address
LIBERTY
“If it be asked, What is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic?
The answer would be, An inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws—the first growing out of the last...
A sacred respect for the constitutional law is the vital principle, the sustaining energy of a free government.” —Alexander Hamilton
INSIGHT
"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms,
but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life
and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom." --John F. Kennedy

"Posterity - - you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom.
I hope you will make good use of it."
- - John Quincy Adams
"Any man who says he is an American, but something else also,
isn't an American at all.
We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English
language... and we
have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American
people."
—Theodore Roosevelt
"True patriotism sometimes requires of men to act exactly contrary, at one period, to
that which it does
at another, and the motive which impels them—the desire to do right—is precisely
the same."
"Our
God was my shield. His protecting care is an additional cause for gratitude."
—Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson
"Justice is a certain rectitude of mind whereby a man does what he ought to do
in
circumstances confronting
him." —St. Thomas Aquinas
"The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price,
peace-at-any-price,
safety-first instead of duty-first,
the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life."
—Theodore Roosevelt
DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY.
May God continue to bless America, my country. __ jrz
